So as a lot of you have probably seen, you can now record full 1080p 14Bit Raw video on the Canon 5D Mark II and Mark III. This is truely incredible. However, you can not just import the video and get to editing right away. To be able to use the RAW video, you have to convert the RAW files to DNG. Here is a quick workflow tutorial on how to do that. It's really not that hard to do, just a little time consuming.

A photographer and digital artist by the name of Terrence Blanton has released a new website and photo series called "Eagle Faction" that is explosive and very influenced by Call of Duty and Battlefield. Terrence got ahold of a local Airsoft team to help create a fictional series about a team of former military and outdoorsmen that band together to help salvage their local territory of America after a collapse and invasion in the year 2023.
I know you all have seen tons of life style photographers, all the happy, smiley shots of girls wearing weird, fashionable clothing. However, I think each photographer who shoots these is able to tell a different story with them. Joseph Tyler is one of these photographer who is able to tell a different story then the others. These shots are not all happy, smiley, and fun looking. They are more on the serious side of things which is a nice little change from the ordinary life style shots.
Most people think lifestyle photography is over rated. Just pictures of people hanging out having a good time and thats about it. Technically, yes that is it. However, it's more than just that. It's not that easy to just have the shots look like people hanging out. They have to work well with each other, you have to be able to tell a story with the images, show emotions, ect. Basil Vargas is one of the many Life-style photographers I really enjoy looking at.
Ever wonder how Red Bull or any other company films their skate videos? How they get those awesome flying shots, rolling shots, and what goes into every aspect of the films? In this video, Red Bull takes you behind the scenes in their new skate video. To say the least, it's pretty amazing.
Magic lantern is by far the best thing to happen to the DSLR cameras. It offers so many options not given to you by the normal Canon firmware that it should be sin not to install it. This is a quick little walkthrough on how I use ML for easy, accurate free-lensing.
I have had quite a few people ask about my skin smoothing ways. Its really, really simple. I use Imaginomics Portraiture 2 and have figured out how to get it so it smooths the tones instead of all the texture. So if you use Portraiture, follow along and stop killing your textures!
So I was browsing through Facebook the other day and saw a single shot out of this series. I thought it was a pretty funny shot and clicked on it only to find it was a part of a series Daniel did. I met Daniel in a awesome photography group called Creativos and loved his work. I was really intrigued by the series, loved the story it told with the humor and slight side of depression.
Documentary photography is something I have always wanted to get into. I do not go on enough trips to really get great shots that really bring emotion to the viewer. Azli Jamil does an amazing job of this exact thing. Just by looking at these shots, you almost feel what the subjects in the image are feeling.
Are you located in the North East and getting hit hard by the snow storm? Are you just sitting inside? Brian Maffitt isn't. He decided to grab a projector, throw on some cool visualizations and point it out into the snow and take pictures of it. A very cool and unique idea and way to spend the time sitting at home.
This was a very special shoot to me. Cami has been a good friend/photographer for a long time so we go way back. Although this shoot had nothing to do with her photography. Cami is an amazing vocalist. By far the best I know. I used to produce music and she sang on the first track I ever had signed. So we had a good connection to start with and I knew this was going to be an amazing shoot.
So I have seen quite a bit of caricature portraits and fell in love with them. I decided to try my hand at doing a few and kind of fell into a new little series with them. Everyone who has seen them has asked if I could shoot them or their families in this style. This little tutorial will show you how I go about doing these shots.
Here in the lovely freezing area of the the Inland Northwest, looking at images of the beach just warms me up even if it's cold in those locations. Looking through these shots really gives me that feeling and really makes me wish I could go to each location get away from this cold.
Hello Fstoppers, a few days ago I did a life-style shoot with Mary for fun. Decided to bring along an assistant, second photographer and videographer. Just went out for a day of fun and shooting. This is the behind the scenes video for that shoot along with the final shots.
I have never personally met Mike, however I can't seem to get away from him. He definitely has some amazing shots that stand out from the rest of the crowd. I know Mike through a Facebook group called CREATIVOS, which is a group for photographers looking to share tips, tricks, and images and grow within the industry. I keep seeing his work pop up and can't take my eyes away from it.
