A Review of the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD Lens

A supertelephoto zoom lens is tremendously useful in a wide variety of genres, and in recent years, we have seen an influx of affordable, high-quality third-party options from companies like Sigma and Tamron. Tamron's latest is the 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD, and this excellent video review takes a look at the lens and how it compares to a native Sony option, the FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS.

Coming to you from Jan Wegener, this great video review takes a look at the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD and compares it to the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS. Such lenses are great for everything from wildlife photography to landscapes and sports, and Tamron's option comes in at $500 less than the Sony version, making it an intriguing option. Of course, you will not get the kind of power you would from a dedicated supertelephoto prime, but at only about 15% the price and with the added versatility of a zoom, it is hard to go wrong. Check out the video above for Wegener's full thoughts on the lenses.

Alex, I would like to know what you mean by "power" in this statement.

I know that these ___-600mm zooms give practically the same "reach" as dedicated 600mm supertelephoto primes, so I am interested in knowing what it is that you are referring to as "power".

Light-gathering and narrow depth of field.

Looking forward to these becoming available on the market
