Originally from Columbia, Andres Hernandez has quickly become one of the top fashion photographers in Miami. In his most recent video, Andres collaborates with Extyn Italy for their spring 2010 collection. There are some nice behind the scenes moments in this video but it does lack a little on the technical aspect.
Gabriel Goldberg is a young editorial and commercial photographer. His portfolio has some really interesting images and this behind the scenes video shows you how he created his latest photos for Grazia Magazine.
You may remember earlier in the week when I introduced you to Nathaniel Welch. He is represented by Redux Pictures which manages dozens of great and talented photographers. One of those photographers is Rudy Archuleta. Rudy grew up out in Hawaii and started his career shooting rockstars for the pages of Rolling Stone Magazine.
Michael from Pixelcatcher.com has come up with an easy way to capture high speed images with a simple flash setup. While this method works great when popping waterballoons, you could also use it to capture anything that has a dramatic impact. Hopefully we can track down the specific unit Michael is using to create this setup.
It must be food week because so many of the submissions we have gotten have been based on photographing edibles. Today's video features cinematographer Gary Jones and his team of stylists filming a 35mm Back Yard Burger television ad.
We have been getting a lot of requests for videos that feature behind the scenes footage of specialized fields of photography. One of those fields is food photography which is probably because so many of you are reading our blog before lunch at work or in the late hours of the night when all that is left is that dreaded "4th meal".
Mick Gleissner is an underwater fashion photographer. Watch MG talk about some of the safety issues and unique challenges he faces in this fashion photography niche. It's truly amazing to see his images after knowing what all he and the models have gone through to create each photo.
Check out more of Mick's incredible images at www.mickgleissner.com
Chase Jarvis and his group of crazy friends show their behind the scenes footage of a shoot for Rusell Investments (yes they are shooting for an investment company). They are using the RED One cinema camera for high frame rate video and the Nikon D3s for standard HD video.
After posting yesterday's video on Alexx shooting triathlete Chris Lieto for the cover of Outside Magazine I was sent this awesome video of Alexx working on a new article for the Apple ipad. Hopefully after watching these two videos it should be clear where advertising is headed in the next 10 years with products like the ipad and creative minds like Alexx Henry.
What would you get if you combined the look of well lit photographs with the movement of videos and displayed them in a traditional print ad space? Watch what Alexx Henry and his production team do with the Red One camera. It will blow your mind! Check out his still portfolio as well; his work is definitely leading edge.

There is no technical talk in this video but hopefully you can still take something out of this short clip. If you like what you see, be sure to check out his blog at www.nathanielphoto.blogspot.com where he has some interesti
James Karinejad is a commercial product photographer out of Edgware, North London and his work is probably best described as clean yet imaginative. Some of the clients he has worked with have included Dolce & Gabbana, Pizza Hut, Clarins, and Addison Lee. It's also interesting to note that James made the transition to stills by first working in video.
Simon Carter is a professional rock climbing photographer. I have to admit, after watching this video I'm a little jealous of Simon being out in the middle of nature shooting these amazing climbers. Most of us will probably never tackle anything like this but it is exciting to see artists like Simon sharing his talent in the video format. It's also nice to see more Nikon D3s footage.
I'm one of those bloggers that is going to give credit where credit is due.
One video that crossed our desk the other day was by Los Angeles photographer Kesler Tran. His use of pretty simple lighting in a very remote location really creates for some great photographs. A lot of you will really appreciate the extra effort Kesler takes to build a simple two sided mini studio wall out in the desert.
I was first introduced to Joey L's work through a photoshoot I did with Hayley Ayala (aka Nikon girl). Joey Lawrence is a commercial photographer based out of New York City. His client list includes Forbes Magazine, NBC, Warner Bros Records, FX Network, and Atlantic Records. He has shot for Panic at the Disco, The Jonas Brothers, 50 Cents, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Twilight.
This week I thought I'd mix up the Fstoppers format a bit to introduce you to a good friend of mine and an amazing photographer Brownie Harris. Brownie is based out of Wilmington, North Carolina and shoots all sorts of projects all over the country. I think I was first introduced to his work through the praise of some of his previous clients that were based here in Charleston.
Have you ever had to move between 3-5 different environments and maintain consistent exposure and color among each scene? Many photographers move between several locations every half hour (studio setup, indoor bounce flash, outside natural light, low light video) and have to quickly reset their camera's settings over and over again.
Have you ever been told by a professional photographer that the only way to increase your flash's refresh rate is to carry one of those frumpy battery packs that attaches to your belt and connects to your flash with that telephone cord? What if there was another way to improve your flash's performance that did not require any extra cables or bulky battery packs?
I came across this video the other day by photographer David Jackson out of Appleton Wisconsin. David is a commercial photographer who like most innovative artists shoots primarily on location. Check out his latest behind the scenes video of a promotional shoot he did with Matters: A Design Store with a Cause.
Marie-Louise Cadosch of Behind the Mask Photography is not your average run of the mill photographer. Her background as a fashion stylist seems to play a huge roll in creating a classy mood in her photographs. In her Glasspass behind the sceens video, Marie-Louise spares no effort on the production end and the images are great because of it.

If you are like me you may have first come across Danica Patrick during the Superbowl for one of those Godaddy.com ads. Most people probably know her best as an Indy Car racer or Nascar driver. Here she is in a behind the scenes video for the cover of Shape Magazine.
Now that Fstoppers is up and running I thought it would be a good time to introduce Patrick Hall, one of the best wedding photographers in South Carolina. Charleston and South Carolina in general has become a hot spot for destination weddings because of the weather, the beach, and the historic charm the city and state has for visitors.
