Fashion Week Gets Pranked by Jimmy Kimmel

Fashion Week in New York is coming to an end today, and is largely considered the Grammys for the fashion forward and fashion photographers of the industry. It’s not too uncommon for fashion to get its share of criticism from the public, looking largely like a marketing con for “What’s New For Fall”. So what happens when Jimmy Kimmel decides to play some pranks on those at fashion week in New York?

Jimmy Kimmel decided to bring out his ‘Lie Witness News’ to the heart of New York Fashion Week to ask the attendees what they thought of various fictional designers and brands. The results of course, are hilarious, with their own ignorant charm. Watch above to see the fashion forward society look like fools, and expose fashion as nothing more than fancy names and buzzwords. Judging by the video, perhaps having a foot in your mouth is the new style for this upcoming fashion season.

Between this and the fake twerking on fire viral video, Jimmy Kimmel is making a mockery of everyone recently...

LOL. loved it when that guy said it's called fashion look it up. Funny how some of these people act they know it all and use the word Avant-Garde even though they have no idea what it means.

It's called moron, look it up..

Meet fashion guru : George Costanza!!!!

Hilarious... I love it!

As someone who shoots NYFW backstage and has spent some time outside the Lincoln Center speaking to and photographing some of these people, i can honestly say it makes for an interesting and bizarre bunch. Some of them truly know their stuff and i very much respect that. For every one of those, there are 10 others, very much like those represented here, who are simply there to be seen and snapped by the thronging hordes of street style fashion photographers who hang around outside the Lincoln Center. Much of them, IMHO, are clueless and simply there for attention.

For anyone in NYC around the bi-annual NYFW though, i strongly encourage you to hang outside the Lincoln Center for a while, it is a great photo opp spot and excellent for people watching.

What does this have to do with photography?

Aliens are laughing at us this very moment.

Jimmy Kimmel is always funny. But what those this have to do with Photography/movie making which (I thought) was the goal of this site?

The fashion industry is very much part of photography in my opinion.
