Mike Kelley's New Tutorial On Architectural Photography Is Now Available

Four years ago we filmed Where Art Meets Architecture: How To Photograph Real Estate, Architecture and Interiors Tutorial, and it has been the most successful tutorial Fstoppers has ever produced. We've teamed up with Mike Kelley again to produce Where Art Meets Architecture 2: How To Photograph Luxury Homes and Advanced Photoshop Techniques, and it's available now.

In this new photography tutorial, Mike goes beyond standard real estate photos to produce images that could be used by architects, interior designers, and luxury home builders for their portfolios, marketing, and publication.

Where Art Meets Architecture 1 is eight hours long and covers an intro to real estate photography, the basics of architectural photography, tips for photographing commercial spaces, and an intro to the business of architectural photography. Where Art Meets Architecture 2 is 13 hours and covers only one thing, photographing and Photoshopping images of luxury homes.

This new tutorial was created with professionals in mind. Mike doesn't spend much time going over camera settings. Instead he assumes you understands the fundamentals and he dives right into the details of composing, staging, shooting, and editing each shot.

To teach his Photoshop techniques, Mike decided to give away the files with every single lesson so you are able to follow along with him as he finishes each image on the computer.

If you're interested in breaking into this genre of photography I would suggest you stick with the first tutorial, but if you're already shooting this type of photography professionally, the second one will be everything you need.

To learn more about Where Art Meets Architecture 1 and 2 head over to the Fstoppers store and stay tuned for the hilarious behind the scenes series as well.

Looks great. Since my profession is in architecture I've been wanting to start learning architectural photography. Might have to pick this up at some point.

WOW! Looks like a great continuation! Mike even continued to grow his hair lol

But seriously, this is on my wish list for sure!

Mike does it again! I'm so proud of this fella from humble days on POTN to now dropping tutorials!

The second in the series that I have purchased. Well worth the investment. This video is more on the delicate nature of conceiving the shot and executing it. When to use light and when not to. If you are new to Mike Kelley I would suggest purchasing both tutorials. You will see how Mikes technique and eye for composition has evolved over time. Comp is what I struggle with so I was glad to see emphasis on just that. I use information from both of these tutorials most every day. I primarily shoot RE work and typically need to blow through a 6000 sqft home in 2-3 hours, including video. lol So a tool such as these tutorials make me more efficient and more profitable. And as a side note, the production quality is top notch. A great deal of effort has gone into creating these tutorials. Pretty sharp folks! (except for the bonehead who thought renting a Mustang and heading to race track was a good idea. I'll blame it on lack of sleep.)
