What's the Best Mic for Vlogging?

There are several brands and different models of microphones on the market which is constantly growing. Trying to pick one out of the masses can be a tough decision, especially if you are not familiar with them. What is the best mic to get if you are just starting out, or possibly looking to get a better one?

One of the most popular brands for microphones that I have come across in my search is Rode and they have multiple different microphones to choose from. So which is the best one to get? Why not ask popular YouTuber Peter McKinnon which mic he thinks is the best. Well luckily for us, this week’s two-minute Tuesday video shares a comparison of a few different versions of the Rode mics so you can hear the differences including the newly released video mic. Yes, once again Peter goes over the two-minute mark, but it's still under five minutes.

Gear in the video

After watching the video, which version of the Rode mic do you think is the best? Is it the new Rode Pro Plus? I do like the new features of automatically turning off and on when connected to the camera, plus the removable audio cable. What mic do you use for your vlogging?

Is there any other youtuber than Peter McKinnon on this planet ?

There's Max Yuryev who put out a video comparing the $300 Rode featured in Peter's video to a $25 Takstar mic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9rrr3l3yuA

For basic needs (like mine), the $25 Takstar wins.
