One-Light Product Photography

Given the global pandemic of COVID-19 (and the year that shall not be named), I very quickly found out that I am indeed, contrary to previously held opinions, an extrovert (and not an introvert). But given the situation, I wasn’t photographing people. What could I make that would work well with the images I already create? I do quite a bit of fashion and beauty work, so why not products that go with those?

Is Your Security Worth the Price of That Discount Tablet?

Black Friday, love it or hate it, always manages to produce some tempting deals on the tech front, and tablets are no exception this holiday season. Numerous stores are selling cheap, poorly made Android tablets at prices that you can only believe once you open the box and realize what you just bought. These devices are usually sluggish, riddled with bugs, lack future updates, and more critically, come full of security flaws. Bluebox Labs recently put several of these discount tablets through security tests and the results are a bit frightening. If you’re in the market for a new Android tablet, a quick read through the results may save you a lot of time and frustration.

Creative lenses have become a popular way to do things “in camera.” Sure, there are hundreds of options for numerous editing programs that can do creative effects in post, but there is something to be said about getting everything in camera as it’s happening, including tilt shift effects. Unfortunately for most of us, tilt shift lenses are just not in the budget. That’s where Lensbaby’s modular lens system comes into play.

Ricoh GXR Mirrorless Camera Review

Digital Rev's Nikon D5500 Hands-On Review

This year has already been filled with some compelling DSLR camera releases and announcements and the new Nikon D5500 is no exception. The creative team at VS always makes some of the most high intensity commercials year in and year out.
