The Retouching Academy has announced a new contest, open to beginner and experienced enthusiast skill levels. Download the contest image file and submit your best retouch by May 15, 2018 for a chance to win some great prizes from Wacom, Capture One, and Retouching Academy.

Each entrant must submit their best retouched edit following the official contest rules and submission instructions. All entries must be submitted by 7:00 PM EST on May 15, 2018. Buried in editing three weddings :( hope they extend the deadline a week or two...
So understandable :) We won't extend this one, but we will have more for sure!
Join when you can!
Of course! Anything you are comfortable with, we will only judge the resulting retouch :)
I'll give it a shot! Wish me luck 😂
Good luck! :)
Hah! I'm definitely a beginner! But, I'll give it a whirl!
Good luck Robert! :)
That's so nice, definitely I will give it a try :)
That's the spirit! Good luck Pawel :)
I love the bottom image and it's a bit heartbreaking that people will mostly be removing all of the little nuances of her skin that make her unique. She'll end up just another carbon copy plastic illustration among thousands of others.
Rob, unfortunately the majority of people will, but we have been receiving some good results too! I'm totally with you on this and the winner will have the mindset like ours, not the "plastic illustration" for sure :)
Thanks so much Aneesh!
Absolutely - best of luck with the contest and I look forward to seeing the winning edits!
What classifies the difference between beginner and enthusiast?
It's on the contest page, but enthusiasts are ones who have been retouching for at least two years.
I am hoping to just get an update for my Capture One! Now that school is over for me I am able to do the contest!!
Ahh I haven't looked at it yet as I'm at my day job, thanks for that. :)
Quick question #1, do we receive any kind of confirmation that our entry was received?
Quick question #2, in the rules it is a bit unclear but if we wish to post this on say 'instagram', taking credit for the edit not the photo...a) are we allowed to do so b) what do we have to put on it to make it kosher with the artists involved?
