Repetition

This was taken last December on my birthday weekend. My wife and I took our dog to the beach for the first time and we came across these birds. I was initially taking video of them because they were so in unison. The water would recede they would all run out together following the water closely and pecking at the sand. It was real close to the sun setting and I switched over taking photos, and that's when Sadie (Our dog) also took notice of the birds and decided she was going to try and get one. The birds saw her coming and took flight, they were closely grouped and I was lucky enough to have some great evening light. The layers of waves and foam make for some interesting lines for the foreground, middle ground, and background.
