I love the sky but I'm not too happy about the rest of the location. There is just too much in the image. One tree at the water or just the water would have been more my taste. Still 3 stars, because, man that sky :)
Gorgeous detail in the Milky Way, but I would have to agree with Mark. The foreground takes away from the image because of the lack of subject. I also would have removed the people in the bottom right (theyre adding to the distraction). Still a 3 star image, in my opinion.
Lovely image however for me, from the 80 images i would loved to crop everything at the bottom of the trees and have the sky as the main subject
I think thats always the temptation with Milky Way photography (and there is a place for that), but what keeps the variety in this field is the subject in the foreground. Theres a reason why the composition of so many amazing Milky Way photos rely on how the galaxy relates to the foreground.
