Nice job getting some motion blur in the wings.

I would love to see this photo with the things that have yet to bloom removed as well as the stalk of the flower that comes out of the middle of the image and moves across the screen to the middle left.

I would also consider bumping up your shutter speed one stop to reduce the motion blur in the rest of the bird. A few minor changes, both before snapping the photo and in post would raise it to a four or five-star.

I would darken everything but the bird just a little. (Dodge and burn) or through a mask and using levels in Photoshop. That would help draw the eyes to the bird.

Removing the distractions as mentioned above would help draw the eyes to the bird.

Those two suggestions would raise my vote form a two p to a three-star. It could go to a four-star would have to see it.

Capturing birds in flight is tough but you did a good job of capturing the bird.

Really gorgeous shot. Perhaps not what I think of for “action” (maybe that explains the lower ratings?) but a beautiful shot nonetheless. Well done on the color grading’, and I love the soft feel of it. I don’t mind the motion blur, but maybe a slightly faster shutter speed would be ideal. Easily a 3 star image in my book.
