I was floating the Missouri River, shooting photos for Cabela’s and Bass Pro June 2019. Two beautiful restored antique planes came buzzing low down the canyon overhead and I was busy blasting away frames with a 100-400mm. I photographed the first plane, and then, as the second one came close overhead, a friend in the boat with me said, “Look at that eagle!” Just then, this bald eagle flew into my frame and I was able to lock focus on it. We laughed off and on the rest of the day at what ridiculously low odds it was to experience that.
