I count myself lucky to have this image for three reasons. First is obvious, the rainbow. Second is the fact that I was there to take it, this was a sunrise the day after we arrived in Wanaka and I was tired having shot sunset the previous evening. I already had some good images, so needless to say, I very nearly didn't drag myself out of the camper to capture this image. Finally, this was shot just a few months before the iconic lower limb of the tree was cut off by vandals. This is the only time I have been to New Zealand so I feel immensely lucky to have this image of the tree as it was, even though I have no doubt I will return to photograph it many more times in my life.
