I was familiarising myself with a new purchase, a vintage Pentax SMC-A 50mm f/1.4 lens. For such an old lens, the rendering is impressively sharp, especially at f/20.

nice shot, but i think the subject would benefit from a vertical photo rather than horizontal.
I agree. I did attempt it, but the position meant I couldn't quite get the camera sturdy enough - the joys of travel photography!
Having said that, the vertical that I did get didn't quite convey the same feeling.
