2.29 - "Needs Work"

I waited about 3 hours to get this shot near Acadia National Park this August, and of course just as sunset was beginning about 100 other photographers showed up to try and take this exact shot. Many of them tried to get up as high as possible to be more level with the lighthouse, but I really liked the movement in the water as an added draw to the bottom of the image.

You may be looking at the image thinking that I've totally crushed the bottom of the sunset in post, but that's actually air pollution being carried up to Acadia from the rest of the CONUS. As factories and cars and whatnot release tons of pollution every day, wind carries it right to Acadia where the mountains trap it. I could've cloned it out to add the sunset back, but I felt like it's important to leave these things in as it really shows the damage humans cause when left largely unchecked.

Image was taken on my Fuji X-T5 and 10-24.
