Your Best Images of 2024

Time of day, type of rocket and location all came together for this photo. The rocket is an SRB (Solid Rocket Booster) these are the ones with the long smoke trail. I had previously scouted this location along a dirt road in the appropriately named Mosquito Lagoon and knew I could get a view of the launchpad. I was the only photographer at this location (normally there are dozens of photographers photographing launches but the popular viewing locations would be pointing into the sun). It's sunrise and I was able to catch the sunrise glow sweeping across the lagoon and onto the rocket trail. Processed in Lightroom Classic.
