This is a photo of an Art Nouveau door in Budapest, Hungary. It leads to the interior of a residential building designed by the architect Gyula Fodor at the beginning of the 20th century. I love the contrast between the beauty of the door and the advanced state of decay of the building.

I spotted this door a while ago, but taking a photo of it is tricky because the pedestrian way is quite narrow, and cars often block the view if you want to take a photo from the other side of the street. Using a tripod is unfortunately not an option here. I managed to take photos during the day but wanted to capture a night shot as well because the lighting is beautiful. At the end of 2023, I bought a fast wide-angle lens (Viltrox 16mm 1.8) for situations like this. I took this photo at f/1.8 with a 1/50 second exposure time, handheld. Fortunately, it came out pretty sharp. I did some minor edits with Lightroom.
