Fire Dragon Off The Oregon Coast

I saw multiple kites of various types flying in the stiff breeze and when I saw the Dragon kite I knew what composition I was looking for.

For Art sake, I increased the hue slider a touch, removed sensor spots, and adjusted the horizon to get an Art feel to the photograph.

As the title stated this was taken on the Oregon Coast on October 3rd, 2015.

My challenges were getting the composition to isolate the single kite from the myriad of others and avoid lens flare from photographing directly into the Sun. This required moving around and adjusting focal length quite often.

For this photograph I was using my Canon EOS T3 (EOS 1100D/Kiss X50) with the EF 75-300mm f/4.5-6 III kit lens. My camera settings required for this shot were f/5.6 ~ 1/1250 sec. ~ ISO 100 ~ 110mm

Currently I shoot with my EOS R5 and EOS R as a second camera. I also use my original Minolta SR-T201 (version 1) from 1976 when I feel like shooting film.
