A 2007 portrait of my wife and daughter; taken on top of Pothole Dome in the Tuolumne Meadows area of Yosemite NP. Now I am biased, but this is my favorite photo of all time. I took it with a Nikon D200 using a Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 D lens (the cream machine) on a warm summer afternoon. Challenges: besides a squirrelly daughter, I was in my second year of using a DSLR, it was my first year shooting raw with manual exposure, and had just received the lens as a 10th anniversary gift from my wife. I originally processed it with Photoshop Elements and fortunately saved it as an NEF. Prior to this entry I went over the file using LR, PS, to improve the lighting on the faces and background. I also used Topaz AI to help fix a problem I had with the focus on my wife's face (daughter in focus and wife slightly out of focus). The photo was accepted as an entry in the 2008 Orange County Fair, and has hung on my wall ever since. I hope you like it as much as I do. I kept the D200 until 2012. My current camera is a Nikon Z7II after many years with the D800 and D850.
