pamban bridge, rameswaram - india

The Pamban Bridge is the second longest bridge in India, about 2.2 kilometers long. It was opened in 1914. Until 1988, it was the only way to travel by land between Rameswaram and the rest of India. A cyclone damaged the railway line on the bridge in 1964.
