I was excited to try out what I had learned in an article about photographing small and fast-moving subjects in nature. I went out immediately to the field behind my house and captured several photos of this Tiger Swallowtail butterfly. This was the only tassel flower in a field of white flowers, and I positioned myself to make sure I would have a nice background while I waited and hoped the butterfly would find this flower. I like this side view best with the brilliant colors. I used natural lighting and shot it handheld using my Nikon D7500 with my Nikkor 300mm PF ED 420mm f/5.6 1/3200 ISO 2500.
