Shot on a Sony a6000 with the Sony 50mm f/1.8, using only natural light — indirect light coming in through the doorway. No flash, no reflectors.

My grandmother is 103 years old and lives with Alzheimer's. During my visit, she remembered me.

She was lying down, and I picked up the camera while that recognition was still in her eyes.

For me, this image is less about technique and more about a window that opened and closed in seconds. I'm grateful the camera was in my hands when it happened.
