Wild Goose Chase | Minolta Maxxum 9xi with a 70-210mm F4 lens on Kodak Colorplus 200
Of course I wish I'd had a slightly faster shutter here as there is some unwanted softness, but upon reflection I wonder if it actually adds something to the photograph (or if I'm perhaps just justifying my sloppiness!).
I shot this at Oak Park in Minot, North Dakota, USA while on a nature walk with my wife in late March. I took lots of boring (but sharp!) stationary photos of geese and squirrels, but this is by far my favorite image from the day. Springtime is when these geese nest and develop very strong feelings, chief among them a fascinating display of competitiveness. I'd say the emotional element is quite obvious. I hope you agree!
