This photo was shot during portrait session using Sony A7iii with Sony 50mm f1.8. The soft backlight was deliberately used to create a dreamy, ethereal quality which dissolving the background into pure light so nothing exists in the frame except the emotional connection between the two subjects. The near kiss composition was chosen over a direct kiss to preserve the feeling of anticipation and longing, that suspended moment where emotion is at its most intense. The greatest challenge was to make couple forget about the camera and genuinely present with each other, so the intimacy reads as felt rather than performed.
