I've been waiting for a long time for the right conditions and finally got the chance to shoot this comp.
The milky way in Australia is really bright thanks to little light pollution outside of cities and even though we're not in the best milky way season yet :)
Now this one was a tricky exposure.
I wanted to go as wide as possible but I was working with my 28mm kit lens...
So there are two photos(180sec each), focus stacked for sharp foreground shot at late blue hour
and
another 5 exposures to get vertical panorama of the stars
All blended together to capture what I saw at the spot.
Also as you might tell, it was quite windy that's why the tree is blurry but it gives a bit of separation between stars and foreground in my opinion :)
Any feedback much appreciated!
i think that the tree in the middle ground sort of makes the picture seem disjointed. I like the foreground and think that you did a good job with it. Since you are blending shots anyway I might see if I could cut the tree out and bring the milkyway in to the edge of the foreground. Just my opinion
Cheers!
Since it's the central part of the photo, I won't be cutting this tree cause it would look weird and fake imo
also I like to keep things mostly as they were and not do too much photoshopping but I'll definitely try a different composition next time on that location! :)
The image is a good one but could be a great one if the stump in the middle of the image, which leads the eye to it immediately, would be better out of the photograph Mike. After all, it's the Milky Way that your focus should be on.
