I like this image, Stanley, especially the glorious light in the foliage. Looking at Patrick's comment, perhaps you could crop some of the grass - to me, the image is all about that cathedral-like majestic vault.
You manage to visit places I have been that resonate for me, Stanley, despite us living on different continents! I visited Christchurch once for two days from Australia for a seminar, and in my half-day spare, went to these gardens. There was severe drought in Australia at the time, and the moist soil and beautiful rich, deep greens that we never have here made me fall in love with the place.
A year later (an instant in geological time), the place was ravaged by the earthquake, destroying the hotel I'd been in. Makes me think twice about resettling in NZ
Yup, agreed by cropping some grass in the foreground would be bringing more attention to the trees.
This was my 2nd visit to the South Island for autumn shooting back in 2018. So sad to see the city was destroyed by the earthquake, but it will never stop me to return to NZ for new exploring.
Great Use of colors in this image! I do kind of miss the aspect of depth in this image. Otherwise a decent image :)
Many thanks for the comments!
Until I became a member I didn't realize that's what my landscapes lacked. Thanks for the reminder.
