Lurig View

Lurig mountain stands tall over the small holiday village of Cushendall in Northern Ireland. I had arrived a good few hours in advance and conditions looked promising but as soon as golden hour had started then the clouds rolled is and viability was zero. I had decided to pack up as it was almost dark and Sunset was over but in an instant I was treated to this moody scene. I fired off a few shots and hoped Id got something good.

Nice Chris, very mellow. Thumbs up on your portfolio.

Thank you. Im getting there, Sometimes I find it hard to know when to stop editing and end up over cooking the photo but I think I am starting to see when is right to stop. Thanks again.

Here's what I have found. Do your initial editing. Work on it for a couple of days. Then leave it alone and come back to it in a week and see it with new eyes. 70% of the time I do it I invariably back off some of the editing and get back to a more neutral look. It's always a balancing act. I've gone so far as to have prints done by a very expensive shop and now come to cringe as I think it's a bit over done. Not often but it happens.
