Wild Hibiscus in Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge

This picture of a wild hibiscus flower was taken in Big Branch March Wildlife Refuge in Lacombe, Louisiana. I went out hoping to get some shots of the otters playing, but the deer flys that morning had other plans when i got out there (breakfast). After about two miles of hiking through the worst swarms of deer flies i've ever encountered (they were going in eyes, ears, nose, and mouth), I decided to turn back as there was no way i could stop moving long enough to look around, much less get the camera up and focused if i did see anything. Shortly before getting back to the trail head the flies somewhat disappeared and I was able to get a few shots off, one being of this flower.
