Mesquite Ice Cream

One of my favorite compositions I found during my time in Death Valley. I shot this scene during sunset, however, I got even better (and more unique) conditions during a mid afternoon windy day. I waited for the passing clouds to cover the Foreground layers, meanwhile having the sun lightly hit the main dune. took about 30 minutes of bracing the blowing sand to get this image. hope you enjoy!

Model testing

This image was done in late 1980s on Polaroid's instant slide film Polapan - a prefect film for beauty and boudoir photography as skin tones were rendered silky.
