I love a little distortion in my portraits . I think the distortion creates a little but of an interesting look.Would love to hear some ideas to get more out of this splendid lens. Shot with the 16-35mm f/4 with flash.
Thanks. Rani
I love portraits with wide-angle lens. Just as long as the face is within the central area of the frame, and not too close to the camera, otherwise all sorts of distortion occurs. For effect, Jeunet and Caro used this distortion of subjects in their movies.
For some great wide-angle model shots, check out the Vogue fashion photographer Steve Hiett. I love how he uses lines to lead the viewer's eye into the subject.
Thanks Mark for commenting. I did actually ask my subject to lean in to the camera for this one. I do love playing around with the degree of distortion provided the subject doesn't mind . I really wanted to create the idea of motion.

Yes, there's a great feeling of movement.
In photography, 'distortion' shouldn't be such a dirty word. Hehe.
I like the drama it has created.
