10 Important Keyboard Shortcuts for Working More Efficiently in Lightroom

Many photographers find themselves spending hours in Lightroom performing many of the same tasks over and over, and as such, taking the time to make your workflow as efficient as possible will pay off in the long run. This excellent video tutorial features 10 of the most useful keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom to help you complete your edits more quickly.

Coming to you from Signature Edits, this great video tutorial will show you 10 of the most valuable keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom. While all these shortcuts are useful, my two favorites are the "\" and "J" keys. The backslash key allows you to quickly view a before and after of your edit, making it simple to keep track of how far you are pushing your post-processing, as it can be easy to get a bit of tunnel vision sometimes. The J key toggles the blown shadow and highlight indicators, which makes it much more straightforward to dial in exact edits to maximize dynamic range. If you have trouble remembering all those keyboard shortcuts, you buy a keyboard cover with all the important shortcuts printed on it to make it easier to work, in addition to giving your computer a little protection. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
