If you have not tried out the new masking panel yet, you should definitely take an hour or so to play with it, as it is far more capable than in past versions of Lightroom. Nonetheless, as powerful as that is, don't forget how useful the old standby, the brush tool, is for emphasizing different parts of the frame and for sharping the overall light in the image.
