Egret, Lake Mattamuskeet

560mm · f/8 · 1/640s · ISO 6400

I was out for a late summer landscape search at Lake Mattamuskeet North Carolina. This wildlife preserve is known for the migratory birds of winter that travel from the Arctic Circle to the U.S. in early winter. Late summer is a time to shoot natural abstract landscapes. Luckily, on this Monday afternoon, I encountered a flock of beautiful white egrets. This Great White seem to pose for my camera.

Superb Ed not only posing but could not have landed on a better spot!

Thanks…. It was pure luck…. I had to walk slowly and quietly and hope that it would not fly off
