Every Photographer Ever: Camera Bags

Somehow, every three months, a new bag manufacturer figures out a way to bend the laws of physics to make a smaller bag that holds even more gear.

"It holds so much!" is the answer I hear from every photographer when I ask them why they like their new bag so much. You would think that by now, photographers would stop falling for this marketing hype but it appears that as a whole, we are more excited about camera bags than ever before.

Every time another trendy bag is released I ask Patrick, "Why do photographers get excited about every new camera bag when they are all the same?" We could never figure it out.

For the past two years, we've been talking about making a spoof video about these "magical bags" and every photographer's delusional love for his or her personal bag but we never got around to it. Our pledge to make 30 videos in 30 days inspired us to film it yesterday. Enjoy.

Oh and if you're looking for a really awesome camera backpack, this one holds so much!

You're giving Mary Poppins a run for her money with that bag: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AivZSC9J3Rs

She should put that bag on Kickstarter

HAHAHA

Fun!

I wouldn't say "every photographer ever" though

As a location/studio photographer I've been using the same pelican case for over 10 years. Just another case to add to the others on my cart when I'm on a shoot. Since I don't need portability for the most part ;)

Genuinely very well done and spot on IMO.

awesome video guys. only thing that was missing was the iPhone pocket. keep it up.

You just spent the whole night trying to figure that goddam thing out? ))

And then comes the update.

Ha that was awesome...the tears of joy had me rolling. For me though there are really only a few bag options. I need to carry strange things like ski crampons, climbing skins, shovel, avalanche probe, extra layers, food water and other crap. Its the Clik Elite Contrejour 40 2.0 for me.

Hilarious!

LOL! That was funny!

The funniest part to me is that everything in that bag was not planted, it has been in there for like 8 years.

This is the bag I took to Ireland...I think I tried some of that gum....it turned to powder

Love it! Fun times at FStoppers...

To be honest, when I buy a bag (or a backpack in my case), I try to forget about this traumatizing experience ASAP. I'm very picky and I have very specific expectations from my gear bags so it's almost virtually impossible to find something, that would fit my needs. Currently I own two backpacks - one I consider my "city" backpack (not so comfy to carry for long hours, but with laptop compartment) and my "outdoor" backpack - very comfy, but little smaller and with no laptop compartment (although, I might be able to push it there somewhere). And I hope I won't need to go through the HELL of finding new one again anytime soon. Anyway, thanks for that video - the "one tear man" got me there for a second. ;)

Does the bag have loops for storing film rolls?

Very funny, especially the last line about Sony. I'm inspired to find the perfect bag to hold my bags.

Lee & Patrick - it’s good to see an article from The Godfather’s of Fstoppers more often.

Ok that was very funny 😁

Thanks. Just saved me from buying the bag in the ad just below the video. I want one of those bags. It holds so much more. Great video.

Home run! And I had my popcorn ready, eager to see if this was TRUE. lol

LOL. Well done, hilarious and even the blooper was on point.

So, you guys need a new bag? You just had to ask lololol....

I'm still strong with my Vinta! LOL

thx for funny video :D

If you can't carry your stuff in a standard Domke Bag you carry too much crap and suffer from an acute case of Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

Best photography gear related video of 2018 so far! Loved it :) I was half expecting for Lee to pull out a ladder and a few drones, hahahaha, that was awesome!

I originally skipped this article because I didn't care about seeing a camera bag review righty now (I don't need a new one). However, I saw it posted elsewhere and came back to see why was it so special.

Quite frankly, this is an awesome video.

Hahahah this is amazing
