Probably my favorite shot from the Cascade Lakes near Bend, Oregon. I had hiked Tumalo Mountain earlier hoping for a great view of the Sisters and Mt. Bachelor, but wasn’t happy with the view.
While I hiked, my brother came across the Cascade Lakes and recommended we check them out. Once I started hiking out into the wetland it transformed into the most unapologetically beautiful landscape I’ve enjoyed shooting.
I stayed through twilight. This spot had everything I could want: winding streams, reflections of the moon, Alpenglow, clouds around the snow-covered base of Mt. Bachelor and flowers in the foreground.
