I’ve always wanted to shoot astrophotography, but this year’s trip to Oregon was the first time I made a dedicated effort to get out after astronomical twilight. I made several classic mistakes (30 minute exposures don’t work well for star trails!) but ended up with a handful of keepers.
This was the last capture of the trip — culminating an incredible 2 weeks experiencing the most beautiful scenery in the US.
I tried a few variations on settings: the 30 minute exposure was unusable due to clouds coming in and out, but my last shot of the night (a quick 4 minute shot) proved the most poetic. It feels good to be learning new things!
