On Track

It took about 5 weeks to get a great sunrise here paired with a train that drove by during golden hour. Worth the wait.

Those clouds are great.

Approximately where was this? Just curious because that appears to be an Amtrak train, I may have been on that bit of track a few months ago.

Thanks Skye I stacked some long exposures to get those really drawn out clouds. This is in Lyle, Washington along the Columbia River Gorge.

Great image! You have a knack for strong compositions, Daniel. This one's a corker. Love that limpid water next to that bold, crisp train. I could go on... :-)

Thank you Chris! Composing is one of my favorite parts of photography as there are so many possibilities and I definitely labor over which one is better out in the field before committing. I never was interested in photographing trains until this series but now I feel they add a lot to a scene especially for scale.
