It took about 5 weeks to get a great sunrise here paired with a train that drove by during golden hour. Worth the wait.
Part 2 of 3 in my "Transportation in the Gorge" series
Exposure(s):
Trails and Sunrise: F13, 15s, ISO 100, 20mm x 13
Train: F7.1, 1/125s, ISO 800, 20mm
Tunnel Light: F3.5, 1/160s, ISO 1600, 20mm
Those clouds are great.
Approximately where was this? Just curious because that appears to be an Amtrak train, I may have been on that bit of track a few months ago.
Thanks Skye I stacked some long exposures to get those really drawn out clouds. This is in Lyle, Washington along the Columbia River Gorge.
Great image! You have a knack for strong compositions, Daniel. This one's a corker. Love that limpid water next to that bold, crisp train. I could go on... :-)
Thank you Chris! Composing is one of my favorite parts of photography as there are so many possibilities and I definitely labor over which one is better out in the field before committing. I never was interested in photographing trains until this series but now I feel they add a lot to a scene especially for scale.
