Intense Sunset along Appalachian Trail

With the Coronavirus beginning to spread in my area I had been indoors for more days than I could remember. The stress of work and life was weighing on my shoulders and nature is my escape. I knew it wasn't safe to go to the normal public popular places, but surely there was a remote spot I could get too to be alone for just an hour or so. I hopped in the Jeep and headed for the mountains. I hit a one-way gravel road that leads to the top of Unaka Mountain and hoped to see no one else desperately needing a break for indoors. To my satisfaction I found an entrance to the Appalachian Trail that only had one other car. Sunset was rapidly approaching so I hurried up the trail to find a good spot to setup. The sun began to set. It was so intense or maybe it just felt that way, because it felt like forever since I had stood on top of a mountain in front of the sun. I hope you enjoy this shot as much as I did. All my stress and anxiety melted away.

Josh, nice shot and nice job. As good as the shot is, I enjoyed your description even more. You captured my current feeling about being shut in during this crazy time. This is going to motivate me to get out. Stay active... Stay safe...

It’s tough times man. But there are some safe spots out there. Stay safe

Great capture!
