Spring is one of my favorite times of the year in the southwest, for many reasons. On this particular trip, the Milky Way had a lot to do with it. I timed my trip with the new moon and spent 10 days chasing the Milky Way all around the Colorado Plateau.
I ran into all sorts of weather and adventure along the way. This was one of my favorite shots from the trip and I pulled it off on my final night. It is a blue hour blend with a tracked shot of the Milky Way from the same location. It felt great to capture this image, as the last 3 days I had been clouded out of astrophotography.
