No doubt, no matter what genre you shoot, being able to fine-tune your color and add your own personal style to an image is something that can really set apart the quality of your work and help it become more immediately identifiable. That being said, it is very easy to go overboard when editing color, especially when you are adding more of it, so try to err on the side of doing less. When I am done with an edit, I like to step away from my computer for a few minutes to let my eyes rest, then come back to evaluate things one more time.
