Lesser-Known Tips for Editing Photos in Photoshop and Lightroom

Photoshop and Lightroom are tremendously complex and intricate applications, and there are many different ways to accomplish any specific task. If you are always looking for new ways to improve and expand your workflow, check out this fantastic video tutorial that features some lesser-known tips and techniques for working in both Photoshop and Lightroom.

Coming to you from Mango Street, this great video tutorial will show you some highly useful features and techniques for editing photos in Lightroom and Photoshop. One that I am especially fond of is the Subtract Mask feature (and the entire new masking panel in Lightroom). If you have not taken a deep dive into the new masking panel yet, it really is worth checking out, as it is vastly more powerful than the old panel. Not only has it made my workflow much more efficient, it has legitimately improved the quality of my images. It has done this by allowing me to make adjustments that simply would not be worth the time before, such as bringing back a blown-out sky that sits behind complex trees, something I frequently deal with in some of the venues I shoot. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
