When it comes to portrait photos, lighting and shooting the image is only half of the process. Coming to you from FJH Photography, this great video tutorial will show you how to retouch portraits using both Lightroom and Photoshop. Retouching is something that takes a bit of practice, as you need to have a nuanced touch and the ability to keep an eye on the overall progress while also working on local issues. One way to do this is to simply zoom out every few minutes to see how the overall effect is building up. When you are done, step away from your computer for a few minutes to allow your eyes to reset a bit, as it is easy to get a bit of tunnel vision. You will often end up wanting to pull things back a bit when you take a second look. Generally, less is more when it comes to retouching. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
