Canon Explorer of Light Tyler Stableford is making it into yet another post on Fstoppers. This time, he was out on a shoot testing the capabilities of the new Canon 1DX DSLR and the 600 EX RT (currently available for pre-order) by shooting some action shots of alpinist Steve House working with some ice climbing gear. In this video, Tyler shows us how he is using the Speedlite to get the look he wants, while having some fun with the new 1DX.
Be on the lookout for more videos that show footage from a film he is putting together for NAB. Via [Tyler's Blog]
They did a nice job not showing the Patagonia logos. :D Those were some nice shots with the backlight on the ice chips though.
I'm jealous. I just bought a 580exII...now i want a 600...
This is a feature I've been wanting Nikon to pick up for years... I bet I will be waiting for a few more years.
For a million years, I've been wondering why Canon isn't upgrading the ST-E2 transmitter. I speculated they'd simply incorporate wireless flash trigger in all EOS cameras. I didn't expected a radio trigger upgrade though. Nice!
Hi Mike, thank you very much for the article. We also just shot some skiers and snowboarders with the 600EX-RT Speedlites, the 5D Mark III and the 1D X at Snowmass as part of an upcoming instructional series for Canon's Digital Learning Center. We used anywhere from one to nine speedlites to shoot from midday through dusk. Here's a sneak peak at the shoot:
