Only Hours Left To Enter Fstoppers Biggest Photography Contest Ever

The first ever Fstoppers Workshop in the Bahamas is happening May 28th - June 1st at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and we want to give one of our readers the trip of a lifetime for FREE! We are actually doing 2 separate contests and they both end today, Friday May 28th at midnight eastern time.  If you are looking to expand your own photo skills, connect with other photographers in your field, explore a different genre of photography, or simply take a vacation you can write off, this is going to be the event to attend. How do you win this trip for free? Details are below:

Contest 1: All expense paid trip to the 2014 Fstoppers Workshop in Nassau, Bahamas.

This contest is open to everyone world-wide. On February 1st, 2014, one lucky Fstoppers fan will win a flight voucher worth up to $500 to travel to the workshop in the Bahamas. They will also win accommodations for 5 nights at the Atlantis Resort and access to any of the courses offered throughout the event. A passport is required to enter the Bahamas so make sure your documents are current and up to date.

How to enter (each option below will count as a separate entry):

Fstoppers.com: All you have to do is leave a comment on this post below explaining why you want to win this contest. Vulgar or trolling entries will be disqualified/deleted so keep it nice

On February 1st we will randomly choose 1 name from each of the areas mentioned above and randomly draw one as the grand prize winner.

Contest 2: Full Refund on All Paid Classes

This second contest is open only to those who have signed up and paid for a class at the 2014 Fstoppers Workshop. To inspire you guys to sign up early, rather than waiting until the last minute, on February 1st we will pick one lucky attendee and reimburse their entire photography workshop class package. The full refund amount will depend on the number of classes bought prior to the announcement of the winner. Since this year's workshop is limited to about 200 students, your chances of being chosen are much greater than the above contest open to the general public.

Additional Rules and Terms:
All entries must be submitted before 11:59 PM eastern time on January 31st for consideration. Prizes are contingent on winner attending the workshop and are worth no actual monetary value. Winning trip and classes cannot be transferred or given to anyone other than the winner. Passport is required.

UPDATE: Submitted earlier but since then, I have had my camera stolen from my house. Wondering if karma was sending me a message....winning this opportunity would show me that karma has other plans for me!!!!!!!

A chance to learning from such a talented group of people is very exciting. Aside from being a great location the opportunity to shoot with the Fstoppers team is amazing.

I would love to have the opportunity to learn from some of the most skilled people in photography.

Why do I want to go? I want to learn more about photography! At 55 years old, I've discovered what I want to do when I grow up . . . I'm sorta behind the power curve, aren't I? Hey, it's never too late to do something you love. (I'll continue learning, but it sure would be nice to get direct input rather than replaying a video.) Thanks for a great site and all the resources!

This definitely is the raddest workshop this year. There's no other way I could get to this besides this contest. Amazing!

fStoppers have always been coming up with amazing content and educating photographers worldwide. To attend a workshop conducted by them would be an excellent opportunity which should not be missed. So here I am doing everything possible to get my entry in for this fantastic giveaway.
F - Fabulous Site
S - Sensational Tutorials
T - Teacher
O - Outstanding techniques
P - Perfect for amateurs
P - Perfect for professionals
E - Educative
R - Resourceful
S - Something a photography should not live without

I would love to go to this workshop. I am constantly trying to improve and get to that next step in my photography. I feel like I've hit a wall and this workshop would give me the boost I need to get over the wall.

Great opportunity. Love what you guys are doing at fstoppers and would love to hear from some of the top photographers in the field!

I've made the big step and quit my day job to dedicate myself full time to photography/retouching. Starting the year attending a workshop like this would be a great push in my career. Improving my skills with 10 op the top photographers/retouchers of the world would be the best thing that could happen to me wight now!

Lee Morris is a douchebag. Can I please go to the Bahamas and learn to be a douchebag too?

In my country the most of the year the weather is not nice. So I like to travel and I always want to learn something. So Travel combined with Workshop is the right thing. Would be nice to win...

Wow this is crazy it's a really great prize. The 500 for the flight want cover much for me being in europe but with the rest being so great I would love to put in the rest.

Would love to get a chance to go and get some real education. In Denmark there is not really any offers.

From all the way down under in Sydney, I would love to have a beer with all the amazing teachers at the Fstoppers Workshops. Learning a heap of new tricks and techniques wouldn't be too terrible either. ;)

Hi fstoppers,

I have been serious about learning photography for about two years. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the best photographers and learn from them!
I have never had the chance to go to a workshop so this would be my first one.

Winning this contest would be a great opportunity for me to save on the workshop to renew my aging gear (7yr+) and make the best of the classes.

I have already booked a class so I will see you guys in May regardless!!!

This will be an awesome workshop! I would love to meet the people behind fstoppers! This will be a great opportunity for me to expand my photo skills to the next level.

Wow, such an exciting and robust event! Would give anything for a chance to learn from the industry's best. The topics are so varied, that it presents a great opportunity to strengthen many aspects of my photography. Fingers crossed for the win!!

Because photography and writing are my passions.
A Dark Tale: The Tale of LeRoy & Sally

It was a day cut from granite: hard and cold, which brought Leroy into town. He was of a mind to believe he deserved the white hat and cowboy boots he wore. Others were
not so charitable. Leroy spent many a year locked within the crevices of his own illusions, fashioning himself a story that would warrant his filthy desires. Somewhere along his darkening path he'd been failed miserably but of that story little was known, remembered or understood by the man, lean and lanky, filling out his Levis in the early hours of the suns first kiss.

Leroy believed in his thoughts, believed in his wants, and believed his mind was of a sort to lead Nations if only he'd had the gumption to plaster himself across the signs and leaflets he saw each time he came to this place to satisfy that which grew within him.
Leroy was always first in line and last with any amends. Gorgeous from the start he made the fairer among us swoon when he dipped his chin, turned his head and bore down with his penetrating stare. Women assumed he had depth, girls that his soul was pure; both were misinformed and paid equally for their inept assertions. No, Leroy was of the caliber of man who shot first, took the most, and damned them all.
Stupidly what was believed to be confidence or arrogance was simply insanity and rage. Lives were lost at Leroy's hands. Flowers were laid bare, plucked in the cool winds of the outdoors where no one heard the screams of dreams dampened nor saw the dewdrops form on the innocent. Hollow trunks rotted in the sunshine, eaten from within by he who would burrow deep inside to leave a seed of destiny which died a paupers death as it's
host was drained of all that shone, face first, towards the warmth and light which heals and renews.
Men held no immunity, cut down, quartered, splayed and skinned. He held sway over those who should have known better. Leroy led them like a religious drug doing the devil's desire. Oh, but they paid as well. Terror lit the night skies over those with the dandling participle. Sentences were dissected, verbs and adjectives given over to expletives lacking in nuance or structure. Leroy pounded his pencil into the novels deep within the hearts of men and boys. He wasn't picky when it came down to it and one sheet of paper was as good as any other. It had taken a long time to create such equality open to the opportunity for self-realization, Maslow’s theory be damned.
Leroy didn’t have an Achilles heel, didn't have the disturbed sleep of others with a piano to tune or a heart to schlep around. He enjoyed a stillness of mind owing to a simple purpose and singularity of demand, nor was he isolated or solitary in this world. Leroy had a couple places to call home, each masquerading as the only, again the trusting among us deceived.
Parents and partners died, few having fulfilled their own expectations in this world. Most went willingly at the start. Some even held over a sloppy grin of the uninitiated thinking a game had begun and they might be playing a role other than that of desperate loser, lost on the board without instruction or opportunity. One roll of the dice, however insignificant it seemed, crossed the player from friend to foe, toward user and used, the game all but forgotten as the chill rents the night air and animals feel the first stir which will eventually pull them from slumber to head toward the liquid elixir which gives life.
To a beast, the animals will sense the presence of evil lurking in the shadows of
the iridescent orb in the sky. Large and small they will bend their will away from instinct to not cross the path of an entity with intelligence that lacks a soul, walks upright, and reeks of something they know all too well, buried deep within their subconscious to keep them safe.
Children do not know this fear, women reject it, ashamed at their emotions and intuitions long abused at the doors of those whose fate gave them the extra mark to create duplicity where duality should win out or at least be honored.

Men sabotage any shot at truth or understanding as they play with themselves so enamored of that which they see in the mirror to really look at that which stands before them. They duck the blow to their ego with tall tales of hunting, fishing and games with balls. They allow Leroy to operate unencumbered in the vicinity of all they hold dear, deadened to the harsh truths of reality which are not outside the City walls, but here, slick and oiled up wrestling before you in rings of leather, satin stings holding simple desires before them like Pavlov's eager friend. Men fail themselves, cheapened with wet desires of vibrating dreams enough to sustain them through the empty headed march towards death's door.
No, it wasn't Leroy’s fate to find himself face to face with a man of strength and character, nor would it ever be. Instead he would round the corner, unseeing, steeped in the mystery of how and why, deep in the narrative of when and where, and come upon the one who would send him back to his maker.
Yes, it was a day like granite, polished and smooth that found Sally sitting in the wooden chair at the table in the back, by the window where the street fills it's rectangular space, giving insight to those with the fortitude to look beyond into their future to divine the place and space where the sticks will shout: "Water Here!". Such a soul was Sally, now all these years later.
She had bandaged her wounds, nurtured her soul, hid form her past, and deepened her hold upon the reigns of right and wrong. It is fitting somehow to find this showdown on streets of sand and gravel, far from the heart of town, out where the lines are drawn between this and that, here and there, and mine and yours. She would walk beyond those lines soon and cross into a place where life is lived beyond fear and defeat, where dreams take hold, and futures are lived in joy and harmony, simplicity in honest action taken when found and laid bare of a complicated mans justice to a woman's cry of yes or no.
Back there, in the recesses of shadow Sally sat and watched her brother amble by. She saw what others saw, but knew what honest souls ignored, and Sally slowly stirred. Promises had been made within her; nightmares quieted by the weight of a small steel contraption. She had it now, kept it within reach always. She paid her bill, coins on the table for the beige fuel which was pumping through her veins. Imaginary poncho thrown open, cigar tossed squinted eyes and a symphony playing in her mind...

Today Sally's dreams, fears, hatred and hurt were walking slowly before her and she wasn't about to let them slip away like sleep wiped from an eye without acknowledging its presence.
The back of the head, sight unseen would be too good for the man who had raped too many souls and robbed too many minds of reason. Face forward was the suckers punch, telegraphing each move to one so practiced would only invite ridicule, or worse. Step. Step. Step. Leroy marches on.

Never is a good time had by all, and never comes around all too frequently.
One, two, three; four shots rang out into the day, wide and loud. Birds scattered, lesser creatures scampered, and Sally stood her ground. Leroy turned, amazed by the sight which awoke him from his stupor. Sally: Sister, Lover, Friend, here to kill me?

One shot rang out, clear and true, found its mark and closed a chapter in A Dark Tale: The Tale of Leroy and Sally.
The End

Learn from the best! This is a great oppotunity to see the people behind the camera who seriously affect my work too.

After picking up photography a few years ago I've been teaching myself as much as I can. Being on a budget hasn't allowed me to do anything like this before. This would be an amazing opportunity to take my skills to the next level!

That would be sweet! There is litterally not quality workshop like that in Montreal :O Every workshop i'd like to go from people I follow and respect don't do workshops in Montreal. That would be my kickstart for the Year!

It would be so amazing to take part in this opportunity to learn and grow as a photographer.

This will be an amazing vacation, I mean business trip! LOL I know I won't be able to afford to take this business endevour on my own expense and would LOVE to get this trip fully paid for to learn like I've never learned before and to come back and apply that to my business.

I'm glad I found you, such a great opportunity to learn! Keep up the good work!

I had the pleasure to cover some of the biggest Latin Artist in New york, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Maryland, Virginia and DC. Photography is not a job is a passion that inspires me to learn more and more every single chance I get. Winning this workshop would not only make me better but also would give me the tools to share my knowledge to others. Thanks have a good day and keep up the good job!

Why you ask? One word: Amazing! An amazing (and very talented) group of photographers, amazing workshops, amazing location, amazing life experience.

The [amazing] Rob Grimm is my photography idol (not in a creepy way, I swear). I'm an aspiring food and beverage photographer and words could not explain how honored I would be to meet and learn from Rob.

Bonus: The more times I get to say Aaron Nace's screen name (aknacer), the happier I will be; it's just so fun to say!

Thanks for putting on these great workshops FStoppers! I hope you continue with this idea so that if I don't make it to this one I will hopefully be able to attend one in the future!

all I can say is.... PRETTY PLEASE. this would mean a lot to me and I could only imagine what I would take away from the experience! never been outside of the states, which is crazy since I was raised a military brat.. and my husband hasn't really been outside of texas. we both love photography and this would be more than a photography learning experience it would be that honey moon we never really had. can't think of a better vacation than being in a beautiful place with the one I love doing something I also love. okay, that's all.. I won't make this into a sob story.. just really excited about the opportunity! eek!

Although, our chances are equivalent to winning the lottery. You have to play to win. Here's to throwing my name in the hat. I would love the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest minds in the industry!

I love following Fstoppers and learning what I can from every post. The Bahamas would set my mind right to absorb as much as possible from the workshop!

Who wouldn't want to go to the Bahamas, AND have 10 top photographers sharing their secrets. It would be a dream come true.

My name is Cody Klatt. I started getting into photography when my grandpa showed me some of his incredible pictures that he took with an old Rollei. This sparked my interest of course so a year later I started asking for a camera. The camera I received on Christmas day was my prize possession for many year. I am now involved with one of the last professional's in our town as an assistant and second shooter. To go and learn more about this art from many of the worlds finest would be an honor.

I want to win this amazing opportunity because I've always dreamed of
owning my own commercial wedding photography business. The way I see it, this is a
huge opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge for me. I've always
thought that knowledge is the most important part of life; it will
accompany your soul till the end, no matter what, and this is why I
definitely want this experience to make a part of my life

This would be an amazing opportunity for whoever wins this! Unfortunately I am not a professional photographer so I cannot justify spending the kind of money to go to an event like this, so I just have to cross my fingers and hope I win!

Hey, all links are shared, channel subscribed, comments everywhere where found lol ! take me out of this rain island, haha ! i mean Ireland though ;) hope you will hear my hope

This will be awesome...!!! I will get to learn new photography tricks from the pros... I have never been lucky enough to win such contests.. But I am being optimistic.. keeping my fingers crossed.. ;)

There is an absolutely need for a german picturemaker in Nassau ;-) Really love to be there with you guys. Cheers

everybody wants to win
I am Everybody.
Thanks Fstoppers :)

This would be an amazing opportunity!! I would love to have the chance to learn from Rob Grimm and Dixie Dixon! This would help to take my photography to the next level.

This would be a amazing opportunity to learn. I would love to pay my way to these classes and learn from such great people if I could afford it at the moment. Someday I will and maybe I will be chosen. Love following you guys with the most updated news and tips! I would love to have all these amazing people have words that will and encourage me and move me forward. Keep on pushing! :)

No pleading story here...simply without the win I won't be able to attend this year. Amazing lineup - hope you pick me although I like some of the stories here tbh.

As someone who has newly launched a photography career, fstoppers and all those associated with Lee and Patrick have provided 90% of what I know. Before, people liked my photos, then I bought how to become a commercial photographer, and the art behind the head shot a little while later and now people love my photos. To meet you all in person and learn further still would be like a football team winning its league trophy. (Hope that didn't sound to cheesy).

Yes, please! Peter. Hurley. Squinch. Bahamas. A new addition to my bucket list.

Taking part in a workshop with tutors & organisation team of this quality is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I have enjoyed numerous 'originals' from your production, so I guess the next natural step is to meet the amazing photographers in person:)

I'm ready to take up this challenge, I'm ready to learn, I'm ready to take full advantage of this course.

Best,

Martin

What a great oportunity to learn more stuff...

I seriously would love to go to this workshop series - there are a lot of instructors who I admire and would relish any information provided in their respective classes. Its also a great opportunity to meet others and learn from one another. Here's to hoping I get to go!! :D

Wow, that is amazing, hope the winners, will make good use of it!! :)

It would be an honor to win this contest. The past few months have been so difficult for me. Now with the company I work for laying people off each week it has made it even scarier for me. Although it has been very difficult for me I'm doing everything I can to remain positive for my future.

It would be an experience that would not only help to become a better photographer but to be able to share the experience and new learned knowledge with others.

If given this opportunity, I would be able to use the newly learned skills to help me get closer to my dream of becoming a full-time photographer one day. I don't make much money so an opportunity like this would be a dream come true for me.

I will always be grateful to FSTOPPERS if given this opportunity.

What a blessing this would be! I always learn better from a teacher rather than on my own or with a book. Thanks for the opportunity!

Peter Hurley says do it- so I did it

What an amazing way to get inspired and learn about photography! Learn from your idols and get a chance to meet then and share your passion for this incredible art. Winning a trip to this fantastic workshop would be a huge inspiration, and you would without a doubt go home with a lot of new knowledge that would help anyone be better at their craft. Winning this trip would be a huge honour and one of the best ways to improve your craft, see a new country and meet new amazing people!

I'm an old dog and I can learn new tricks. This would be a great opportunity to get some up to date training on DSLRs and software. I teach college students and started with a Pentax K1000 years ago. I still use most of my training in composition and lighting to help students get the most out of their cameras. We spend time reading manuals and using great sites like f-stoppers to get the latest and greatest photography news and tips. Thanks for the opportunity and good luck to everyone.
