I'm not sure you can convince many of us this was a "single shot".
I like the photo, but the silhouette being perfect in edge sharpness while the black around it melts into the water is highly reminiscent of a cut, gaussian blur and paste back in routine.
When I edited this photo I apply the motion blur effect on the sea (it includes the boat) and then with the eraser I delete the effect from the boat. The result was not perfect in my opinion but it was one of my first heavy retouch of a photograph in photoshop.
