Trumpeter Swans.
This is from the upper Mississippi River. It was about -20F.
If the temps are below -5F, steam/mist rises from this section of the river because of the power plants warming the water upstream.
The sun rises right above the river. If you're lucky, there will be a little break in the mist for the sun to reach your subject. Add to that having an adult and a cygnet flying in perfect sync, I don't feel that I'll ever have another chance at a shot like this.
