I was leaving my apartment to go to the grocery store, and this Sandhill Crane was right there, pecking at its own reflection in a parked car! So I ran back up to get my camera and it was still there a few minutes later. Not only that, but it was also very calm and I was able to get within a few feet of it. It eventually flew off when a dog barked at it.
