The idea for this self-portrait project came to me after seeing the trailer for Matrix 4 where there is a scene where Keanu Reeves is in a bathtub with a rubber duck on he's head. At first I thought about using random objects but after some time thinking about the project I decided to go with just different foods.

The final project ended up being 3 groups of 4 images where each group is a specific color of food, specifically yellow, green and red foods. The full project can be seen on my website at https://danielgomesfoto.com/projectos/comidanacabeca

I shot this project over several days in my studio using godox flashes and gels; I used 2 TT685s and 2 stripboxes on either side for the colored rim light, a TT350s with a standard reflector and colored gel for the background and an AD200pro in a 120cm octabox from above at aprox. 45 degrees for the main light. For the camera and lens I used my a7III with the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 at 50 mm and f/11 for all shots.

The shots have minimal editing, some color correction for uniformity and some skin editing. 2 of them also have some photoshop work; the one with the Ice cream, where I merged 2 exposures, one where the cone as sharp and where I wanted it and one where my face matched the position of the other shots and one with a cucumber where I used tooth picks as supports and removed them in PS

Lastly, I hate food waste so a major factor when choosing the foods to use was making sure I could use them and still eat them afterwards, and I did, they were all very tasty.
