I took a night walk through the streets of Kastelli Fournis on the island of Crete. My wife's family comes from this village, which is a gem if you want to avoid the usual tourist traps of larger towns and cities like Neapoli or Iraklio.
When we visited last year, we would often go for walks early on in the morning or later in the afternoon, which made it easy to scout for interesting spots to photograph. Evidence is abundant in the architecture of the village from when Crete was part of the Venetian Republic, which only adds to the charm of the place.
