2.44 - "Needs Work"

Starting in the Angolan Highlands, the Okavango makes its way down to Maun, Botswana and forms into a delta since there is nowhere else for it to go. The water never reaches the ocean. This natural phenomenon happens every year and brings an end to the dry season. This event is celebrated along the river banks. It is considered good luck to wash your face in its wake or dip your feet in the cool refreshing waters. Even older people drink from it.
Children take this opportunity to cool down after the dry, warm day and play in the stream.

The actual delta ends and flows into the Thamalakane and the Boteti rivers and will eventually evaporate. Next year this cycle will repeat again.
